Susan Niekamp Studios Inc. is owned by Susan and operates out of SWFL. She offers online lessons across the globe. She is a vocal specialist, and music theory game lover. She is also an International Best-Selling Author - The Power of Why Musicians: Why 21 Musicians Created a Program and Why You Should Too. She is a member of TMO (Teaching Music Online).
Her biggest joy comes from meeting her students where they are in their music journey. She loves becoming both a Music and Life mentor. Her top priority is to encourage her students and let them know they matter. Each student will build confidence because she is listening and there to help, guide and educate.
Students from her studio sang back up vocals for both Kristen Chenoweth and Barry Manilow. Her advanced vocal students have performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and Musikverein in Vienna Austria. Two of her students have been finalist and part of the Come Back Stage for the TV Show “The Voice.”
Many of her students have recorded their own albums and have songs on iTunes, Spotify & Youtube. They have also gained admission to prestigious colleges and gone on to have successful careers in music.
Susan began her musical instruction in Chicago at age 5 with organ and piano lessons. She added voice, clarinet, saxophone, composition, theory, conducting, show choir, A Capella, jazz band, orchestra, marching band drum major, dance, church choir, hand bells director, worship leader, professional vocal soloist for weddings and funerals and musical theater director to her resume. She started teaching private voice, piano and clarinet lessons at age 16.
She was on the worship dance team and Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington IL, worship leader and keyboard player at Palm Coast Church, worship leader and choir director at Sanibel Community and Grace Community Church. She is thrilled to have been the music director for 60+ musical theater productions with Fort Myers Theatre.
Susan graduated from NIU with her bachelors in music education vocal major K-12 and clarinet minor. She has gained 100’s of hours in continuing education and is proficient in various vocal techniques including The Connected Voice and Estill Vocal Technique.
